Miami Sailing
School, Inc. is considered as one of the toughest sailing academies in the
United States. The coveted certifications in numerous specialties have
become a sign of excellence of top level instruction acquired under realistic
conditions. These sought-after certificates, based on the European standards
of evaluation, much higher than anything we have here, are among the most respected
in the U.S. and abroad. Regardless of any amount of advertising, there
is no substitute for serious instruction carried out by instructors of vast
experience, nor can the prescribed minimum amount of sailing time required for
certification be short-cut in any way. Those only are commercial maneuvers
to lure unwary beginners into incomplete instruction programs, by offering less
time at consequently lesser total cost. It is only when sailors face the
potential danger of adverse conditions on water, when they fully realize the
importance of such training. A single collision, assuming there only is
a material damage, costs many times over the cost of this course. The
School attracts persons in search of expert knowledge and simultaneous assurance
of the newcomer's future safety and competence in handling a sailing vessel
under any conditions.
MI.S.S. is the only sailing academy in the United States teaching the arts of navigation in four languages.

This Program is designed to provide serious overall information for people interested in obtaining the effective skills to control a sailing vessel. The exceptionally high standard beyond what is normally considered as sailing instruction, is the product of direct personal interaction of the student aboard highly sophisticated sailboats, under the constant supervision of expert instructors. The MIAMI SAILING SCHOOL's methodology, based on proven techniques and developed from European equivalent standards, ensures excellent results.
Upon completion of this Course, the student really comprehends the basic mechanics of sailboat operation and acquires a genuine confidence at the helm, even at such complicated maneuvers as may be entering a marina slip under sail. Absolutely all work and boat handling are done by the students. Two written tests and the Final Practical Exam complete this Program. The successful student obtains at no extra charge the Skipper Diploma. This fundamental certificate becomes a solid base for all future sailing activities. One of the additional advantages is the fact that as of that point you may use club vessels for your personal enjoyment for a period of six months, starting with the date you registered, without being a club member, and do so at a reduced rental price as a regular member. The difference will shortly pay for the initial cost of your course.
This Course is not difficult for an average person with common sense, yet a degree of effort, concentration and dedication is necessary to absorb the multiple aspects of instruction. It was not designed to be easy, as other commercially oriented tempting offers based on insufficient information or instruction time claim, but above all effective: To learn how to really achieve a true control of a sailboat at all times. Expert instructors provide challenging and near-life situations afloat.
MIAMI SAILING SCHOOL, INC. has established its reputation since 1982. It is a unique, serious and realistic sailing academy, serving those in search of expert knowledge and sailing traditions. Certifications are equivalent to European, Middle East, Central and South American standards, where they are required by law, and are among the most respected in the USA today.
Course reservations, accompanied by a $ 100.00 nonrefundable deposit and the Course Registration Form, should be remitted well in advance to secure the desired time slot in the annual schedule. Acceptance is subject to available space. If the course is prepaid in full with the reservation, a $ 100.00 discount is granted to the student. Other arrangements may be requested and granted. Cancellations may be called in up to 72 hours prior to the first session and the course may be rescheduled once within six months as of the date of the original registration. Otherwise the deposit or the payment is lost. Tuition is nonrefundable. When two or more people register as a group or family, only the first student pays a full fee. The rest obtain an additional $ 100.00 credit per person if it is prepaid in full at the time of the reservation.
When 3 or more people register as a group, they may select any free schedule available for their course. MI.S.S. may add more students to complete the group to a full shift.
When 4 or more students register as a group, they may select any free schedule available for their classes. In this case it is considered as a closed private group and no additional students will be added to this group without their agreement.
