"More than any other sailing operation in the Grove, the MIAMI SAILING SCHOOL is really a school. (Most of the others primarily rent boats and do some teaching as well). Here, you can take a 60 hours beginners course and really learn how to sail, all for a very reasonable price. At the completion of the course, you receive a certification which is one of the most respected in the country. There are also many, many other courses for sailing buffs : courses in navigation, racing, night sailing, advanced tactics and more. There are never more than 6 people in a course, and it is you, the student, who does all the work.

In addition to day classes, the School also offers classes in the evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and on the weekends. The School has seven full time instructors and some 35 boats, ranging in size from 18 feet to 61 feet. There are special programs in the summer for children, but during the year the School teaches sailing to people from their early twenties to their late seventies. The School has become so popular that most classes are full and you have to reserve a spot in the next series of classes. If you always wanted to learn how to sail, this is the place for you. It is reasonable : the people are great and you really learn the intricacies of sailing."
