OUR ACTIVITIES :  A condensed view of our principal activities in charter services for residents and visitors in general. We will be glad to be of assistance in any way we can.  To join most of our activities foreign visitors do not have to be club members.  Member prices are generally extended as a courtesy to the visitors.  Other convenient arrangements can be made. Remember many MORE activities are available !  Please confirm the exact times, as summer and winter schedules are different.

SUNDAY SAILING :  On Sundays, when no other activities are scheduled, afternoon sailing is available for guests, visitors and members from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Dinner Key Marina, pier 7, slip 30.  Activity is subject to minimum three people, aboard our International Classes high performance sailing boats in the 30' (9 meters) category.  No services are provided.  Cost for guests and visitors is $ 80.00 per person, $ 140.00 per couple.  Members at $ 50.00 per person, $ 80.00 per couple, prepaid with reservation or at boarding.  Reservations should be arranged to make sure sailing is on and confirmed before 12:00 noon.  This activity may be canceled in case of rough weather or other conflicting activities.

SUNDAY CRUISES :  Once a month Sunday cruises to Florida Keys are scheduled for members, guests and visitors aboard one of our large yachts.  Unless reservations are made and trip is prepaid, boarding is subject to space.  Standard times are boarding at 9:30 and departing at 10:00 am.  Return to the marina around 5:00 pm in winter, 6:00 pm in summer.  It is recommended you confirm the schedule prior to making a decision.  From Dinner Key Marina, pier 7, slip 30.  Services and refreshments are NOT included.  Bring your own provisions, snorkeling gear, camera, etc.  Children under 8 years free.  Cost for guests and visitors is $ 70.00 per person, $ 100.00 per couple.  Members $ 50.00 per person, $ 80.00 per couple.  Prepaid with nonrefundable reservations or at boarding.

DAY CRUISES :  Shared cruises to the famous Florida Keys may be arranged for larger groups during week days or week ends aboard the luxury sailing yacht "Malu - Kai".  Lunch and beverage of your choice are included.  Guests may swim and snorkel (bring your own gear or rent it at $ 15.00).  Departure at 10:00 am, return around 6:00 pm (approximate).  Children under 8 years free.  Cost for guests and visitors $ 80.00 per person, $ 140.00 per couple.  Members $ 70.00 and $ 100 respectively.  Prepaid with nonrefundable reservations.

FRIDAY SUNSET SAIL :  Fabulous alternative to the regular "happy hour" ashore, on Fridays where no other activity is scheduled, one of our large sailing yachts leaves the Dinner Key Marina from 7:00 to about 9:30 pm. Hors d'oeuvre and beverages included.  Cost for guests and visitors is $ 80.00 per person, $ 140.00 per couple. Members $ 50.00 and $ 80.00.  Prepaid with nonrefundable reservations.  Admission is subject to space.

FULL MOON CRUISES :  Romantic outing once a month on the full moon night (subject to weather conditions).  Check for dates and departure schedules, as these vary with the moon.  Average boarding in summer 7:30 and departure 8:00 pm.  In winter 5:30, departure at 6:00 pm.   Return around 10:30 pm in summer, 8:30 pm in winter. Cost for guests and visitors is $ 80.00 per person, $ 120.00 per couple.  Members $ 60.00 and $ 100.00. Prepaid with nonrefundable reservations.  Admission is subject to space.  Hors d'oeuvre and beverages included.

PRIVATE CHARTERS :  Aboard our sailing yachts, ranging from 40' to 56' LOA, including fuel, crew, with or without provisions.  These short term charters are ideally suitable for parties, business meetings, presentations, birthdays and celebrations.  The large yachts can accommodate up to 30 people or more.   HALF DAY :  (Up to 4 hours) $ 1,000.00.  FULL DAY :  (Up to 9 hours) $ 1,400.00.  24 HOURS DAY :   $ 1,800.00. These prices are valid for nromal charters, reserved, confirmed, and fully paid for no later than 30 (thirty) days prior to the desired charter date.  For late or last-minute reservations, due to urgent need to obtain the captain and crew from among our members, such costs may vary notably, subject to each situation separately.  These prices are indicated without any additional services.  Inquire about our catering services and additional entertainments available for these occasions. Florida sales tax of 7% is due on all charters.

LONG TERM CHARTERS :  To Florida Keys and Bahamas.  The Keys have thousands of beaches, some of them accessible only with a vessel.  The crossing of the Gulf Stream on a trip to Bahamas may sometimes be a little rough, and inexperienced sailors may consider taking a 20 minute flight to Bimini Islands to board the yacht there.  Long term catered charters accommodate ideally a party of 6 plus crew.  However, this may be increased up to 12, if certain inconveniences are overlooked by the charterers.  ONE DAY :  up to 24 hours $ 1,800.00.  TWO - DAYS :  up to 48 hours $ 3,400.00.  Subsequent days are $ 1,400.00.  ONE WEEK PACKAGE :  up to 7 days and 6 nights, cost charged is for six days only, $ 8,400.00.  TEN OR MORE DAYS PACKAGE : $ 1,400.00 per day.  Our own or prearranged menus are available when requesting catering services, as well as beverages. Spanish or German speaking steward/ess is available upon request.  Port charges, if any, are additional.  CRUISING GROUNDS :  We can provide you with charts ($ 20.00/30.00 ea), possibly photographs ($ 5.00 ea), of numerous places to visit, depending on the length of the charter.  All rentals and charters are prepaid in full (checks must clear before approval is issued). TAXES :  current Florida Sales Tax of 7% is added to all charges.  PAYMENTS :  All payments are in U.S. Dollars.  Recognized forms of payment :  Cash, check on U.S. bank within the continental U.S. We regret to inform you as of January 1, 2004 we can no longer accept credit cards.  Please note :  all payments, including credit cards payments, are nonrefundable.  REQUIREMENTS :  Visitors must show a valid I.D. :  Passport.  Bareboat charterers must exhibit valid certification.  The dock officer may request a short test to make sure the person is qualified for bareboat charter.  Should a person fail in our opinion, we may provide a skipper (at $ 25.00/hour).  The advantage in this case is, the skipper is responsible for the vessel.  Responsibility waiver for each person boarding must be signed.  People using diving gear must exhibit a valid license.  We expressly caution people against any type of drugs aboard.  The U.S. Laws are extremely tough in this sense.  Every person boarding should declare if they know how to swim.  People who do not know how to swim MUST wear a life vest at all times.

CHARTER VESSEL "MALU-KAI":  Is available for short or long-term charters, parties, celebrations, etc.  The club flagship "Malu - Kai", an Irwin 56' (17m) ketch, is a truly exceptional luxury sailing yacht.  Equipped with all imaginable amenities, either for numerous guests for parties, or for intimate groups in five separate cabins of up to twelve people, including crew, for long term charters.  Brochures, describing this beautiful yacht, are available upon request.  The vessel is captained by Miami Sailing Club staff only.  Crews are well educated, polite members of the association, in many cases multilingual.  For other charter yachts, please see the list.

SHORT TERM CHARTER ACTIVITIES :  Guests are required to sign a responsibility release form within the U.S. laws requirements.  Guarantee deposit is required.  Amount of guests for parties, birthdays and special meetings should be consulted with the captain prior to the event.  Catering services are optional, guests may prefer to bring their own provisions.  Musical entertainment :  A professional electronic organ player is available upon request for soft music themes from the fifties and the sixties at $ 250.00.  A Mexican music group is one of our favorite entertainments at $ 400.00.  A Colombian music group may be requested for special occasions at $ 350.00.  A cool jazz trio is also available for special occasions with contemporary favorite tunes at $ 350.00.  A baroque classical music trio may be contracted for special occasions at $ 400.00.

LONG TERM CHARTER ACTIVITIES :  Guests are required to sign a responsibility release form within the U.S. laws requirements.  Guarantee deposit is required.  Special gear is available at no additional charge.  Entertainment :  Nightlife :  A number of special arrangements may be offered to guests wishing to enjoy the nightlife ashore in the Keys.  Beach combing :  your Captain will indicate the best and safest areas for beachcombing.  Shore excursions :  for guests sailing in the Florida Keys, a number of unusual entertainments is available.  From swimming with dolphins to visiting a shark reservation, many places are available for interesting visits.  Special activities for children are also available.  For details please request assorted brochures. Aboard :  our vessels are equipped with color TV and VCR.  A selection of numerous tapes is available for rainy moments or quiet evenings aboard.  Guests with video equipment may use our equipment for editing their tapes or simply plug in their cameras for viewing previous day's activities.  Their own favorite music on CDs may be played on our stereo equipment.  A couple of games and a deck of cards are also available.  Photography and video :  (Also under water) The Masters of our vessels may have a professional video camera, as well as a still one, to take shots for unique memories.  This is a special request and an additional charge shall accrue for these services.  Such services may be requested even by a short-term cruise passengers.  A Polaroid camera is also available.  A professional photographer may be requested.  Numerous memorabilia items, such as T-shirts and other gear are available directly from the yacht's Master.  Water activities :  Snorkeling :  Limited amount of snorkeling equipment is available onboard, however all sizes are not guaranteed.  Long-term charterers are suggested to bring gear that will fit them perfectly.  Sailing :  centerboard sailing dinghy for up to two people is available upon request.  Windsurfing :  beginner or professional sailboard/rig is available upon request free of charge.  Speedboat :  a power boat is already included with the yacht, for excursions ashore, fishing and similar activities.  Sometimes a boat with a larger motor is available for water skiing at no additional charge.  Parachute flying :  In appropriate conditions the captain may allow the guests to experiment with flying a spinnaker at anchor.  This is a dangerous activity and is performed at the guests own risk.  Diving :  diving gear and activities are not included in our selection.  Guests are welcome to bring their own gear (we can indicate where to rent it locally) but must exhibit their international certification and dive at their own risk.  A divemaster may be provided upon request at an additional cost.

SAILING INSTRUCTION :  For guests interested in the intricacies of numerous sailing disciplines, whether vessel handling or navigation, our skippers will gladly provide meaningful hours of free instruction during the charter hours afloat. The Club's sailing school extends certifications on international level and may be an interesting addition to your visit to Miami.
