NEW  YEAR'S  EVE  PARTY

HOLIDAYS  PARTIES ….

New Year's Eve 2001, or as some will have it, the "true" beginning of the 21st Century, is around the corner.  As every year, the traditional annual event shall be celebrated with an elegant party aboard our flagship "Malu-Kai".  The "old-timers" know all about it, but there have been so many new students this year, we want to make sure everybody knows what is all this about.
On December 31st, "Malu-Kai" will start boarding as of 8:00 pm, leaving the dock at 9:00 pm, for the cruise to the mouth of Miami River at Bayfront Park, where we will anchor and serve the dinner. Return is scheduled around 1:30 am, January 1st, 2001
Timely reservations are prepaid in full by Thursday, December 28th.       Costs are:
MEMBERS & CURRENT STUDENTS:  $ 53.35/person, $ 95.85/couple tax included.
INVITED GUESTS:                             $ 85.20/person, $ 159.75/couple tax included.
Exquisite all-you-can-eat-and-drink hors d'oeuvre, dinner, deserts, beverages and of course champagne are included.
LATE RESERVATIONS:     $ 100/person + 6.50 tax.  (As of midnight December 28th)
Make your reservations early, as the quantity of guests is limited.  Mail your check TODAY !  You will receive a complete Guest Boarding Package with all necessary instructions.  While dress is optional, at this occasion usually people really dress up.  Forget taking your shoes off, ladies, at this exceptional opportunity.

Don't delay your reservations for your cruise party or full day charter aboard the "Malu-Kai".  There are only so many days left till the holidays and unless you act soon, there won't be any dates left.  It's first come first serve basis only.  The December dates usually fill up early.

Whether you plan a rowdy office party, a quiet family reunion, or perhaps even a more intimate event, there is nothing more unique than to do so afloat.  Use your special member & students discount rates to your advantage and stage an unforgettable party.  The costs are about the same as a half-decent restaurant anywhere in town.  Now is the time to sign up and reserve your preferred date and time.

You may request catering services on five levels, starting with Coke-and-pizza Economy Level, right up to Five-Star Deluxe Service with Cuvee Dom Perignon and freshly prepared onboard meals.  If you prefer, you may cater the event yourself.  Special additional services are available, as well as unique memorabilia, if you order them in time.

Give us a call at your earliest convenience and we will be happy to provide you with additional details and free quotes.  Computer generated menus are on file for your convenience.

Soling "Offcourse"
In spite of getting together a large crowd of volunteers on Sunday, October 14th, we were unable to raise her from the bottom.  One of the lines broke under the strain, and that in turn bent the spinnaker pole we were using as a boom.  We plan to see if we can borrow an air compressor and some heavy tanks to try it that way.  We will keep you informed.  And our thanks to everybody who came to help.
Sail-Expo
If you are in St. Petersburg on November 2 through 5, don't miss visiting this event at Vinoy Park and Basin.

Hurricane Season
Is officially over.  We have been very fortunate this year, in spite of the scary forecasts threatened with by the desperate attraction-seeking media.  But let us say the rains that fell on South Florida in October were no joke.  The damage occasioned by the floods was terrible.
New Instructor
David Bleakney has joined our staff of instructors.  Recently arrived from Canada, where he worked with The Victoria Sailing Foundation as their instructor.  We welcome him and hope he will quickly get used to our weather.
